During the address, His Highness celebrated the achievement of the new alumni and congratulated them on completing their studies, urging them to act as ambassadors of the university’s values and to reflect the academic standards of Khorfakkan University while contributing to the development of the "beloved nation" and wider world.

He explained that Khorfakkan University was founded in 2022 as an academic institution shaped by the surrounding marine landscape, with programmes designed to support the people of Khorfakkan, advance research into coastal and marine environments, and improve management of marine resources while also engaging with global issues such as climate change and ocean sustainability.

Sharjah Ruler added, "The university is progressing towards achieving our ambitious vision of building a high-quality educational system. It has completed the requirements for academic accreditation and continues its systematic progress towards joining global ranking systems. University of Khorfakkan has established a distinguished presence in the academic and research fields, with around 5% of its faculty members ranked among the world’s top 2% of researchers, according to Stanford University rankings. This is a highly competitive achievement for a university in its foundational stages. The university has also achieved a distinguished rate of specialised scientific publication in ocean sciences, reflecting the strength of its international academic and research presence."

By highlighting accreditation and rankings, His Highness emphasised that the institution is still in its early years yet already records strong scientific output, especially in ocean sciences, where the university’s research contributes to international literature and aligns with its location on the Gulf of Oman coast.

With the first cohort now graduating and an employment directive linked to their home cities, University of Khorfakkan is positioned to supply specialised skills locally, while its marine and climate-related research aims to support sustainable use of ocean resources and strengthen higher education in Sharjah and the Eastern Region.
