Sharjah Ruler Hosts Dinner Honouring Morocco As Guest Of Honour At SIBF
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended a dinner on Sunday. The event celebrated Morocco as the guest of honour at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF). It was held at Al Nabooda House in the Heart of Sharjah area.
Upon arrival, His Highness was welcomed by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), and Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco's Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication. Several senior officials, department heads, and guests of the book fair were also present.
During the event, His Highness delivered a speech to welcome attendees and guests. He described it as a joyful day for everyone involved in the Sharjah International Book Fair. His Highness received greetings from His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
Expressing gratitude to Morocco, he appreciated the valuable gifts and documents shared with Sharjah. He noted that these contributions opened their eyes to new knowledge and heritage they had not encountered before.
Mohammed Mahdi Bensaid, Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, also addressed the gathering. He stated: "The opening of the Sharjah International Book Fair was a moment of success and happiness for all of us. As we have come to expect from our brothers in the Emirate of Sharjah, it was marked by an amazing organization and significant attendance, which continues to attract participants and visitors. We, for our part, have spared no effort to ensure that the celebration of the Kingdom of Morocco as the guest of honour is a bright point in this flourishing cultural edifice."
Exchanging Gifts and Commemorations
The Ruler of Sharjah and Morocco's Minister exchanged gifts and commemorative plaques during the event. They also took group photos to mark this special occasion.
The celebration highlighted cultural ties between Sharjah and Morocco through shared knowledge and heritage. The event underscored mutual respect and admiration between both regions.
