Sharjah Ramadan Majlis 2025 Explores Economic Growth Strategies Through Innovation And Collaboration
The Sharjah Ramadan Majlis 2025 took place in Mleiha, focusing on the future of Sharjah's industry and its role in economic growth. The event, themed "Sharjah: Shaping the Future, Empowering Growth," was attended by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, and Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi. Sheikha Bodour highlighted the Majlis as a platform for collaboration among government entities and stakeholders.
Sheikha Bodour emphasised the importance of integrating innovation with sustainability. She stated, "Sharjah’s future depends on our ability to thoughtfully integrate innovation with sustainability, ensuring our heritage informs our progress, rather than limits it. The Ramadan Majlis symbolises this commitment, serving as a dynamic space for dialogue where we collectively explore pathways to inclusive growth. Each partnership formed and each idea shared moves us closer to a future that honours our values, supports entrepreneurs, and creates lasting economic resilience for generations to come."

The primary focus of the Majlis was enhancing the manufacturing sector through open discussions with industry leaders. These conversations aimed to identify opportunities and challenges while showcasing successful models. Sharjah currently contributes 35% of the UAE's industrial output, highlighting its significant role in national industrial growth.
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi discussed the UAE's global economic achievements. He noted how Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA) are opening new avenues for manufacturers in Sharjah. "The CEPA agreements are opening new doors for manufacturers in Sharjah, making trade an even more significant driver of our economy," he said.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi spoke about Sharjah's thriving economy and its impressive GDP growth. He mentioned that global companies like Halliburton and Amazon have invested in Sharjah due to its robust business environment. He stressed the importance of government integration in business activities.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer from Shurooq highlighted their efforts in promoting sustainable tourism projects that align with economic growth and environmental conservation goals. He stated that tourism plays a crucial role in Sharjah’s economy, with hotel guest numbers steadily increasing.
Investment Initiatives
Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh discussed initiatives to attract industrial investments in Sharjah. The emirate has developed into a thriving manufacturing hub since the 1970s, now hosting over 2,900 factories across 20 industrial areas and seven free zones.
Sara Abdelaziz Al Nuaimi from Sheraa highlighted their role in supporting startups and fostering innovation within Sharjah’s ecosystem. "The Ramadan Majlis is a yearly reminder of Sharjah's commitment to shaping the future through innovation," she remarked.
Collaborative Efforts
Hussain Al Mahmoudi from SRTI Park explained how they facilitate collaboration between research institutions and private companies to drive industrial innovation. He stated: "SRTI Park is a platform where collaboration is the foundation of progress."
The event included signing three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at boosting innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems in Sharjah. These agreements involved Invest in Sharjah partnering with SRTI Park, Sheraa collaborating with Emarat, and Alef Group focusing on real estate opportunities.
Mleiha: A Symbolic Venue
Mleiha was chosen as this year’s venue due to its rich heritage combined with modern development initiatives like the Sharjah Wheat Farm and Dairy Farm projects. This choice reflects Sharjah’s commitment to blending historical significance with forward-looking economic strategies.
