Sharjah Police Launches 'Summer Without Accidents' Campaign For Road Safety
The Sharjah Police General Command, through its Department of Traffic and Patrols, has initiated a new campaign titled "Summer Without Accidents." This initiative, announced on Sharjah Police official social media channels, is part of the Ministry of Interior's 2024 summer campaign focused on enhancing traffic safety. The campaign will run until the first of September.
The "Summer Without Accidents" campaign aims to educate vehicle drivers and road users on the importance of adhering to vehicle safety guidelines and regular maintenance. It is designed to safeguard public lives and property. This initiative is part of the annual traffic campaigns organized by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with police commanders across the UAE to bolster road safety.
The Sharjah Police have highlighted the necessity of following traffic laws, controlling speeds, and maintaining sufficient safety distances between vehicles. Additionally, they stress the importance of taking the necessary safety and preventive measures for vehicle maintenance, particularly during the summer season.
Drivers are advised to ensure that their vehicle's lights and traffic signals are functioning correctly. They should also avoid placing flammable materials inside their vehicles to prevent hazards related to heat pressure from high summer temperatures.
