Sharjah Oman Investment Cooperation Gains Momentum As Chambers Plan Joint Initiatives
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in North Al Batinah are advancing economic and trade cooperation. During a meeting in Sharjah, both chambers agreed to deepen collaboration, support the private sector, and align business efforts with long-term development strategies in the UAE and Oman.
A key outcome of the discussions was an invitation for the Sharjah Chamber to participate in the second Suhar Investment Forum 2026. The event will be held in North Al Batinah, Oman, on February 4–5, and will act as a platform to showcase new industrial and manufacturing prospects.

The talks addressed plans to build joint frameworks that connect business communities in Sharjah and Oman. Delegates examined ways to identify high-potential projects, encourage private capital, and create opportunities in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, logistics, energy, medical industries, food production, and recycling, which are central to future economic plans.
The meeting at the Sharjah Chamber headquarters brought together senior representatives from both sides. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber, received Saeed bin Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the Oman Chamber branch in North Al Batinah, along with an accompanying delegation and senior officials, including directors Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi and Rashid bin Salem Al Ghafri.
Saeed bin Ali Al Abri presented ongoing preparations by the Oman Chamber branch in North Al Batinah Governorate to host the Suhar Investment Forum 2026. Al Abri explained that the forum will feature interactive platforms for manufacturers and executives from Sharjah, the wider UAE, and Oman to connect and assess potential partnerships in regional and global markets.
According to the organisers, the Suhar Investment Forum 2026 will highlight large-scale industrial opportunities. Focus areas will include advanced manufacturing, heavy industries, medical projects, food industries, and recycling initiatives, aimed at strengthening North Al Batinah’s role as a major industrial centre and attracting diversified investment flows.
Sharjah Chamber and Oman Chamber economic cooperation vision and industrial sector development
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais stated that "Sharjah’s economic relations with the Sultanate of Oman represent a leading model of integration and fraternal cooperation." Al Owais stressed the Sharjah Chamber’s aim to turn these ties into real investment ventures, supporting entrepreneurs and investors seeking to expand into strategic markets and increase trade volumes.
Al Owais added that the Chamber is prioritising joint efforts in sectors that underpin the future economy. These include advanced manufacturing, logistics, and energy. The discussions also underlined the importance of joint economic events and key investment forums in enabling private enterprises and building a unified outlook on industrial innovation and tourism-linked commercial growth.
Participants agreed that coordinated initiatives between the Sharjah Chamber and the Oman Chamber can enhance the competitiveness of business communities on both sides. By linking industrial, tourism, and commercial strengths, the two chambers aim to generate practical growth opportunities, support sustainable development agendas, and reinforce the region’s position in international trade networks.
