Sharjah Municipality Unveils Groundbreaking Initiatives In UAE Innovation Month

In a significant move towards embracing digital transformation, the Municipality of Sharjah City (SM) has unveiled a series of innovative projects and initiatives as part of the UAE Innovation Month celebrations. These initiatives, which are in line with the digital transformation strategy, aim to leverage artificial intelligence to achieve the objectives set by the Emirate of Sharjah, thereby improving essential services for the community. The announcement was made at an event held at the municipality's main building in the Musalla area.

The ceremony saw the presence of Dr. Sulaiman Abdallah bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Municipal Affairs Department, and Obaid Saeed Al Tenaiji, Director-General of the Municipality, among other dignitaries. Al Tenaiji highlighted the municipality's annual participation in UAE Innovation Month as a testament to its dedication to enhancing services across all sectors in Sharjah. He stressed the importance of fostering a culture of innovation among employees to transform innovative ideas into practical projects.

Sharjah's New Innovations for UAE Month

Reem Abdullah Al Rossi, Director of the Human Resources Department and Head of the Innovation Team at Sharjah Municipality, introduced several creative initiatives. Among them is the Smart Path project, aimed at designing and automating inspection operations in public parking management and monitoring the usage of inspection vehicles by department users. Additionally, the Global Inspection Device was launched to meet the specific requirements for inspections conducted by the Central Laboratories Management.

Another notable innovation is the Smart Lens system, developed by experts at Sharjah City Municipality. This advanced technology employs an optical language model to enable residents to submit audio and video complaints and observations via WhatsApp effortlessly.

Beyond technological advancements, Sharjah Municipality has initiated programmes designed to nurture the talents of school students and youth. Initiatives such as Innovative Engineer, Innovative Farmer, and Innovative Inspector aim to enhance students' skills, expand their experiences, and familiarize them with the functions of Sharjah City Municipality.

These initiatives reflect Sharjah Municipality's commitment to integrating advanced technologies and innovative solutions to serve its community better. By fostering a culture of innovation and leveraging artificial intelligence, Sharjah aims to enhance its services and contribute to its comprehensive progress across various sectors.
