Sharjah Municipality Enhances User Experience With Automatic Lease Contract Attestation Service
Sharjah Municipality (SM), in collaboration with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), has launched a new service. This service allows lease contracts to be attested automatically without requiring customers to complete prior procedures like paying electricity deposits or visiting authorities. This initiative is part of the municipality's digital integration efforts with other government bodies in Sharjah, aiming to simplify processes and improve user experience.
Abdullah Al Shahil, Director of the Rental Regulation Department, stated that this development is a crucial step towards streamlining procedures. It significantly reduces the time needed for tenants to attest various types of lease contracts. The attestation process now operates automatically using data from the municipality’s system. After attestation, the contract is sent to SEWA, and tenants receive a text message about electricity deposit fees. Once paid, utility services are activated.
This initiative demonstrates the municipality’s dedication to providing efficient services aligned with Sharjah’s vision for digital transformation. Al Shahil highlighted how the unified electronic system connecting government entities has led to quicker transaction processing and enhanced customer satisfaction. The Aqari’ platform facilitates this new lease attestation and utility activation process, serving as a model for digital government services in real estate.
The achievement was made possible through ongoing cooperation with the Sharjah Digital Office and SEWA. This collaboration is part of continuous efforts to achieve full digital transformation in municipal services. Al Shehhi noted that such partnerships are vital for advancing digital initiatives within the emirate.
The streamlined process reflects a commitment to enhancing user experience by reducing procedural complexities. By integrating systems across different government bodies, Sharjah aims to provide more efficient and accessible services to its residents.
