Sharjah Mosques Host 700 Quranic Learning Sessions During Ramadan

In a significant move to foster Quranic education during the holy month, the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs has unveiled an extensive program of 700 Quran memorisation sessions across the emirate. This initiative has garnered the participation of 29,000 learners from various age groups, all driven by a deep commitment to the Quran. These sessions are not only focused on memorisation but also on mastering the rules of Tajweed, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the sacred text.

The department is working in close collaboration with the Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Foundation and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. This partnership aims to guarantee the highest quality of instruction for participants. In a bid to enhance Quranic proficiency further, 20 mosques have been specifically designated for Quran recitation correction sessions. These sessions are crucial for participants looking to improve their pronunciation and recitation skills.

700 Quran Sessions in Sharjah

Additionally, ten mosques across Sharjah have been earmarked for Quranic interpretation sessions. These sessions are led by skilled imams who specialise in Quranic sciences, providing insights into the verses' meanings, rulings, nuances, and divine directives. The department's efforts extend to the digital realm as well, with "Electronic Quran Reading" sessions conducted via the Zoom platform. This innovative approach allows for virtual lessons on recitation correction, making Quranic education more accessible.

The Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs is keen on expanding these educational sessions to other areas within the emirate. Mosque imams affiliated with the department play a pivotal role in conducting these memorisation sessions, ensuring that all segments of society have access to Quranic education. This initiative underscores the department's dedication to promoting a deeper understanding and connection with the Quran among residents of Sharjah.
