Sharjah Media City Announces Educational 'Shams Summer Programme' For Children

Sharjah Media City (Shams) has initiated the "Shams Summer Programme," running from July 28 to August 8. This programme aims to enhance children's mental, social, and recreational skills through intensive training workshops that blend fun and education in a safe environment. Targeting children aged 6 to 16, the programme ensures activities are age-appropriate, providing valuable benefits to all participants.

The programme includes a range of educational and recreational workshops, such as digital arts, allowing children to gain modern technical skills and express their creativity innovatively. Workshops on drawing cartoon and anime characters encourage children to expand their imagination and artistic skills. Additionally, the basics of photography and mobile phone photography workshops give children the chance to explore photography and improve their skills.

Interactive workshops in science and technology are also part of the programme. These include simple scientific experiments, programming workshops for children, and introductions to robotics. Educational field trips to museums, zoos, and science centres will be organised to boost children's environmental and scientific knowledge.

The "Little Speaker" workshop helps children enhance their public speaking skills and build confidence. Drawing and colouring workshops add another layer of creativity and artistic expression. The programme also includes handcraft workshops that allow children to acquire new manual skills and enjoy making useful items with their hands.

Adnan Al Mansoori, Talent Development Manager at Shams, highlighted that the "Shams Summer Programme" provides a unique opportunity for children to engage in an exciting educational and recreational experience. "We are dedicated to developing their mental and social skills in a safe and stimulating environment. We are confident that these activities will significantly enhance their abilities and inspire them to achieve exceptional accomplishments in various fields. We look forward to welcoming the children and offering them a unique and beneficial experience during the summer," he stated.

Innovative Educational Programmes

The programme aims to achieve several objectives, including enhancing children's mental and creative skills through innovative educational programmes. It also seeks to build character and develop participants' social skills, aiding them in effectively interacting with their community. The activities span eight days, including creative workshops, specialised courses, professional training, discussion sessions, scientific experiments, and sports competitions.

The "Shams Summer Programme" offers a unique opportunity for children to utilise the summer period to develop their skills in an enjoyable educational environment. It contributes to creating a generation capable of excellence in various fields. The programme also includes content creation workshops (the influential child), teaching children how to create distinctive digital content.

Additionally, it features educational sports competitions aimed at fostering sportsmanship among children. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants not only learn new skills but also develop teamwork abilities.

Shams aims to support future generations by developing their thinking, shaping their personalities, and honing their creative talents through its diverse programmes. This age group has been carefully chosen to maximise the benefits of the programmes during this critical life stage.

This initiative by Shams is designed not only for skill enhancement but also for character building. By engaging in these activities, children can improve communication abilities while enjoying themselves in a nurturing setting.
