Sharjah Launches GIM WildCat To Propel Advanced Graphene Technologies In The Middle East
Graphene Innovations Manchester (GIM), a deep-tech company from the UK, has launched GIM WildCat at Sharjah Research, Technology & Innovation Park (SRTI Park). This new facility serves as a hub for commercial development and investor engagement. It marks a significant step in GIM's global expansion, focusing on advancing graphene-based technologies in the Middle East and beyond.
GIM operates across several regions, including the UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Asia, and the US. The company is leading advancements in materials through its various divisions. These include GIM GrapheneFibre, which focuses on graphene-enriched carbon fibre, and GIM Concrete, known for its patented no cement no water concrete. Other divisions include GIM Composites, GIM StarLight Miami for AI-powered data centre cooling, GIM Medical, GIM Hydrogen, and GIM Space Station.

Situated within SRTI Park, GIM WildCat aims to showcase next-generation graphene-enhanced products and prototypes. It also seeks to foster investor relations and strategic partnerships while facilitating business development across MENA and Asia. The facility will explore joint research initiatives within SRTI Park's collaborative environment.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "We are delighted to welcome Graphene Innovations Manchester to SRTI Park. Their presence brings world-class graphene technology and sustainable manufacturing closer to the region. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to fostering next-generation industries and attracting the world’s most innovative companies to Sharjah."
Dr. Vivek Koncherry, CEO & Chairman of both GIM WildCat & GIM, shared his excitement: "We are excited to launch GIM WildCat in the UAE’s most forward-thinking innovation park. We believe Sharjah and SRTI Park provide the ideal ecosystem for our technologies to thrive, commercially, scientifically, and globally."
Commitment to Regional Growth
The establishment of GIM WildCat underscores the company's dedication to regional growth and sustainability goals. By collaborating with investors and customers in the UAE, GIM aims to showcase technologies that are shaping future industries.
Graphene is a remarkable material composed of a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb pattern. It is harder than diamond yet more flexible than rubber. Additionally, it is stronger than steel while being lighter than aluminium. Its conductivity surpasses that of copper.
GIM is renowned for its expertise in applying graphene across various sectors by integrating robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). The company has received multiple awards for its pioneering work with two-dimensional materials.
Dr. Koncherry further noted Sharjah's appeal: "Sharjah’s position as a regional innovation capital made it the perfect choice. With SRTI Park’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, streamlined regulatory environment, and close ties to leading academic and research institutions, GIM has found a true innovation partner to propel its ambitions forward."
