Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department Inaugurates Four New Mosques To Enhance Community Worship Facilities
The Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department has recently inaugurated four new mosques in Sharjah City. Three of these mosques are located in the Al Suyoh suburb, while one is situated in the Al Rahmaniyah suburb. Together, they can accommodate around 4,000 worshippers, both male and female. This initiative aligns with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's vision to facilitate peaceful religious practices for citizens and residents.
These newly opened mosques showcase a blend of Islamic and modern architectural styles, funded by philanthropists. The department's plan for this year includes such projects to address community needs and foster an integrated spiritual environment. This contributes to strengthening social bonds and reinforcing Islamic values within the community.

In Al Mawridah 8 of the Al Siouh suburb, the Al Ghaith Mosque spans 11,312 square meters. It features a prayer hall with service facilities and can host 700 worshippers, including 130 spaces designated for women. Similarly, the Unays ibn Qatada Mosque in the same area covers 3,532 square meters and accommodates 700 worshippers, with 140 spaces for women.
The Rafi’ bin Malik Mosque is located in Al-Morada 4 of the Al-Siouh suburb. It occupies an area of 3,605 square meters and includes a prayer hall with service facilities. This mosque can hold up to 600 worshippers, providing space for 82 women.
In the Shaghrafa 2 area of Al-Rahmaniya suburb, the Bab Al-Rayyan Mosque was inaugurated on a site covering 11,940 square meters. It includes a prayer hall with service facilities and can accommodate up to 2,000 worshippers, including space for 110 women.
Abdullah Khalifa Al Subousi, Chairman of the Department, stated that Sharjah's mosques are unique architectural masterpieces reflecting Islamic heritage while catering to modern needs. "The support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi...is evidence of a comprehensive vision that seeks to build a balanced society that combines authenticity and innovation," he remarked.
This initiative underscores Sharjah's role as a cultural and religious beacon guiding future generations. The integration of traditional values with contemporary development highlights the emirate's commitment to fostering a harmonious society.
