Sharjah Summit to Pioneer Future Education with Focus on Tech and AI

The Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) is set to host the third edition of the Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education from February 25th-26th, 2024. This event, under the theme "Pioneering Future Education," seeks to equip the educational sector with cutting-edge research and practices, with a focus on educational technology and AI. The summit enjoys the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and unfolds in partnership with the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

The summit's agenda is built around four main pillars: successful educational systems, the role of AI in shaping future education, innovation and evaluation in today's technological era, and enhancing quality of life within educational settings. It also spotlights the innovative research and contributions of SEA's students and alumni towards educational transformation.

Sharjah's Leap into Future Education

Dr. Muhadithah Al Hashemi, President of Sharjah Education Academy and Chairperson of SPEA, highlighted the summit's commitment to merging local and global insights on effective educational practices. The event will feature discussions on AI's application in education, research impacts on educational systems, and the necessity for adaptable leadership within schools.

An impressive lineup of speakers will grace the event, including Dr. Timothy F.C. Knowles, Prof Geoff Masters, Prof Dragan Gasevic, Prof Donald Peurac, Prof Mustafa Eryaman, Mr. Patrick Walsh, Dr. Hikmat Beaini, and Mr. Ilkka Laasonen among 60 others. These leaders in educational practice improvement will share their insights across various panels and breakout sessions.

The summit underscores the urgency for qualitative advancements in modern technologies and educational innovations. It aims to leverage AI for tailoring personalized education experiences for each student and stresses the need for curriculum and assessment methods to evolve in line with societal goals and job market demands.

A notable highlight of this year's summit is the participation of the World Education Research Association (WERA), marking its first appearance in the region. This inclusion signifies the summit's rich academic and research offerings in the field of education.

The event aspires to be a converging point for researchers, educational professionals, parents, and policymakers to exchange scientific findings and effective practices in education amidst rapid digital progression. Ultimately, the Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education aims at molding the future landscape of education by providing access to premier educational practices and research, thereby nurturing a holistic and inclusive educational experience.
