Sharjah To Welcome Global Leaders For The 13th International Government Communication Forum

The 13th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2024) is scheduled for 4th to 5th September 2024 at the Expo Centre Sharjah. The event, under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB).

IGCF 2024 will focus on 'Agile Governments.. Innovative Communication,' bringing together senior officials, industry leaders, decision-makers, researchers, and communication experts from both government and private sectors. Media professionals from around the globe will also attend to shape the future of government communication.

The forum will delve into current and future models of agile governments amid rapid global changes. It will highlight innovative communication strategies and tools that advance policies and goals of resilient governments worldwide across social, economic, cultural, and tourism domains.

Guided by five key pillars, IGCF 2024 will feature expert-led discussions, constructive dialogues, and workshops. These sessions will focus on the role of government communication in economic resilience, its impact on adventure tourism, sector capabilities, and strategies for attracting and retaining talent as a national asset.

The forum will also explore the future of government communication in the digital age. It will analyse evolving personal interaction landscapes and associated communication strategies that emphasise direct, emotional, and multi-dimensional engagement.

Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of SGMB, stated that IGCF 2024's theme reinforces effective communication between communities and governments. He said it embodies the UAE's vision of activating inclusive and sustainable development pillars.
