Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 Welcomes Diverse Authors And Thinkers From Around The World

The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is set to occur from 5th to 16th November at Expo Centre Sharjah. This event will feature a remarkable array of global authors, including Nigerian literary icon Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Italian physicist and author Carlo Rovelli, and Irish Booker Prize winner Paul Lynch.

From Africa, Adichie will make her debut at SIBF with her upcoming novel Dream Count (2025). Her renowned works Americanah and Half of a Yellow Sun have been translated into over 55 languages. These works have earned her numerous accolades, such as the MacArthur Fellowship and the Women’s Prize for Fiction.

Diverse Authors at Sharjah Book Fair 2025

This year's edition highlights SIBF's mission to celebrate literature's power in connecting languages, ideas, and generations. The event will showcase authors from various cultures and disciplines. The line-up includes Indian International Booker laureate Banu Mushtaq, British psychologist Dr Julie Smith, and American thriller writer Chris Pavone.

Europe's literary scene will be represented by Rovelli, known for Seven Brief Lessons on Physics and The Order of Time. His work blends science with philosophy. Lynch, whose Booker-winning Prophet Song was lauded for its emotional depth, will also participate. Dr Julie Smith from the UK, author of Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?, will join them.

From Asia, Mushtaq will present Heart Lamp. She is the first Kannada-language writer to win the International Booker Prize. Joining her are Indian digital creator Prajakta Koli, Pakistan’s Mira Sethi with Are You Enjoying?, and veteran Urdu playwright Atta-ul-Haq Qasmi.

North America's representation includes Pavone, known for The Doorman and Two Nights in Lisbon. Danish-American sustainability advocate Armen Adamjan will also attend. Adamjan is the creator of Creative Explained, which promotes environmentally conscious living.

A Hub for Knowledge and Creativity

SIBF 2025 promises hundreds of sessions featuring author talks, book signings, and cultural events covering literature, science, technology, and sustainability. This reinforces Sharjah's global role as a leading centre for knowledge and creativity.
