Sharjah Enhances Organic Milk Production With New A2A2 Cow Batch From Inntro Agrar

In a significant move towards enhancing the dairy industry in Sharjah, the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production EST (EKTFA), under the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, has inked a pivotal contract with "Inntro Agrar Gmbh". This agreement marks the supply of the second batch of 1,300 pregnant cows to Mleiha Dairy Farm, all of which possess the natural, non-genetically modified A2A2 genes. The signing ceremony saw the presence of Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of EKTFA, and Cüneyt Kocakulak, General Manager of Inntro Agrar Gmbh, alongside Salem Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, and other high-ranking officials from both entities.

The contract outlines that "Inntro Agrar" will be responsible for supplying 1,300 pregnant Holstein cows from the Danish A2A2 breed. These cows are distinguished for being implanted with females carrying A2A2 genes. The delivery of these cows will be facilitated through planes equipped with essential health and nutritional provisions, insurance, and in compliance with UAE's stringent specifications and medical examinations required for cow importation.

Sharjah Boosts Organic Milk with A2A2 Cows

Dr. Eng. Al Tunaiji emphasized the initiative as a direct implementation of directives from H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The aim is to establish a core herd at Mleiha Dairy Farm comprising 5,000 cows with A2A2 genes. This selection criteria ensure the cows are of a pure breed, raised in open natural pastures, thereby enjoying high immunity and reduced disease exposure. This strategic move is expected to boost the production of organic milk and its derivatives, known for their easy digestion and natural composition.

Al Tunaiji further highlighted Sharjah's commitment to producing safe, healthy, and sustainable food through unique experiences with major strategic food projects. This contract with ‘Inntro Agrar' leverages their vast experience in the field to meet Sharjah's stringent requirements for healthy and safe food production.

Cüneyt Kocakulak expressed his pleasure in collaborating with the Government of Sharjah towards achieving its strategy for producing healthy and safe food according to global best practices. He noted that the milk produced by these cows contains the beta-casein A2A2 protein, significant for its health and nutritional benefits. This initiative aligns with the Ruler of Sharjah's directives to prioritize healthy and safe food for the Emirate.

This collaboration between EKTFA and Inntro Agrar Gmbh not only signifies a step forward in enhancing the dairy sector in Sharjah but also reflects a shared commitment towards ensuring the availability of healthy food options for its residents. Through such strategic partnerships, Sharjah continues to set benchmarks in achieving food health and self-sufficiency.
