Sharjah Heritage Institute Launches Engaging Summer Camp For Children To Explore Emirati Culture

The Sharjah Heritage Institute has launched the "Sharjah Summer Camp" for children aged 7 to 12. This camp, held from July 14 to 24 at the institute's headquarters, runs daily from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It aims to educate children about Emirati heritage while enhancing their national identity through enjoyable activities.

Aisha Ghabish, who oversees events and activities at the institute, stated, "The camp reflects our mission to raise awareness of our national heritage among children. We want to present it in ways that are modern and interesting to them, allowing them to explore Emirati identity in an enjoyable way."

Sharjah Heritage Launches Summer Camp for Kids

This year's theme, "Sharjah Summer Camp," represents traditional summer gathering spots. According to Marwa Jassim Al Mazmi, the event coordinator, the program offers a variety of events, hands-on workshops, and field trips. Highlights include a play titled "Towards Fifty," workshops on desert life, and puppet shows.

Throughout the camp, children participate in diverse workshops such as spinning and weaving. They also enjoy folk storytelling sessions named "The Jewel of the Tale" and "Pearls and Jewels of Tales." Traditional cooking classes are part of the curriculum as well.

Educational visits form an integral part of the camp experience. Participants will visit local attractions like the Sharjah Falconers Club, Camelicious Factory, and Rubu' Qarn Foundation. These excursions aim to provide practical insights into Emirati culture and traditions.

The camp will wrap up on Thursday, July 24 with a special closing ceremony. This event features a panel discussion titled "Building a Generation That Holds Our Heads High," storytelling performances called "The Magical World of Tales," and an open session for kids' questions.

Recognition Ceremony

A recognition ceremony will also take place during the closing event. Participants will receive awards and certificates for completing the camp successfully. This gesture acknowledges their efforts and achievements throughout the program.
