Sharjah Government Highlights Innovative Environmental Sustainability Initiatives At GITEX Global 2025

At GITEX Global 2025, the Government of Sharjah is showcasing its theme, ‘Powered by Tech, Driven by People,’ at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event highlights a variety of digital projects that aim to redefine environmental sustainability. These initiatives focus on integrating food production, public health, and environmental quality through innovative technologies.

The Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) has entered into a strategic partnership with e&, witnessed by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Rashid Ali Al Ali. This collaboration aims to enhance government network infrastructure using advanced technologies. The goal is to improve connectivity and support sustainable digital development throughout Sharjah.

Sharjah Showcases Sustainability at GITEX 2025

Khorfakkan Municipality introduced the Khorfakkan Smart Gardens project. This initiative incorporates nine AI-powered technologies to transform city parks into efficient and sustainable spaces. The system optimises operations, enhances visitor experiences, and improves green space management while strengthening security measures.

The Department of Agriculture and Livestock launched AgriHub, a digital platform supporting agricultural and livestock sustainability. AgriHub offers real-time data and analytics to help decision-makers implement science-based strategies for productivity and environmental balance.

‘Ektifa - Supply Chain Automation’ was also presented by the department. This project uses industrial automation and IoT technologies to modernise agricultural operations. It integrates data-driven applications at strategic locations like the Maliha factory and Fili poultry farms to boost productivity and food security in Sharjah and the UAE.

These projects are part of an Environmental Sustainability ecosystem that combines agriculture, livestock, and urban green initiatives under one framework powered by data and technology. Through these innovations, Sharjah is establishing sustainability as a lifestyle while positioning technology as a key enabler for environmental preservation.
