Sharjah Fencers Secure 11 Medals At UAE Cup, Dominating Senior And Under-17 Categories
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club showcased its prowess in fencing by securing seven medals at the UAE Fencing Cup. The event, held on 4–5 October at Mizhar Sports Hall in Dubai, featured senior and under-17 categories. Competing clubs included Abu Dhabi Fencing Club, Fujairah Martial Arts, Al Ain Cultural Sports Club, MK Academy, and Dubai Fencing Academy.
In the senior category, Sharjah fencers excelled across all weapons. Sheikha Al Zaabi clinched gold in Épée, with Zainab Al Hosani taking silver and Fajr Al Marzouqi earning bronze. In Foil, Habiba Mustafa's performance earned her a silver medal. Meanwhile, Mariam Al Dughidi won gold in Sabre, followed by Lian Thabet with silver and Mahra Abdullah with bronze.

The club's success extended to the under-17 category as well. Sixteen players from Sharjah competed fiercely, adding four more medals to their collection. Jouri Al Ali secured a bronze in Épée. Dana Al Shamsi also took bronze in Foil. In Sabre, Shamma Al Suwaidi earned a silver medal while Al Anoud Al Falasi claimed bronze.
This remarkable achievement highlights the club’s consistent progress across all age groups. It reaffirms Sharjah Women’s Sports Club as one of the leading fencing clubs in the UAE. The dedication of these athletes underscores their commitment to excellence.
Balqis Al Shehi, Head of Technical Analysis and Follow-up at Sharjah Women Sports, expressed pride in the club's accomplishments. "The UAE Cup results reflect the club’s advancement in individual sports," she stated. She attributed this success to comprehensive technical efforts and team collaboration.
Al Shehi emphasized that developing individual sports like fencing is central to the club’s strategy. This approach empowers players to compete both locally and internationally. She noted that they are proud of their athletes’ skill and discipline.
