Additionally, the development of Martyr Sultan bin Mohammed bin Howaiden Street in Al Dhaid was sanctioned. This project extends 7.2 km from Al Hisn Square to Washah Square and includes adding a third lane, green spaces, and parking areas, with a total cost of AED65 million.

The meeting, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC, also discussed proposals to improve the public transport system. The aim is to ensure high-quality services and consistent availability for all residents and visitors in the emirate.

Employment Report for National Cadres

The SEC reviewed a report from the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) on national cadre employment in the first half of 2024. The report revealed that 1,000 jobs were filled during this period, with 551 males and 449 females employed across various government departments and institutions in Sharjah.

The report also detailed the professional categories and academic qualifications of those employed, along with job distribution across all cities and regions within the emirate.

New Camel Market in Al Dhaid

The Council has approved establishing a camel market in the Al Dhaid area near the camel field. This decision addresses local community requests and aims to provide a vital market serving central Sharjah and its surrounding areas.

This new market will support economic growth by fostering activities central to the region’s traditions, helping preserve the social heritage of camel raising, buying, and selling.

Focus on Sustainable Urban Planning

The Council reviewed several development projects across Sharjah's cities and regions. The focus was on integrating urban expansion with infrastructure and road networks to support sustainable urban planning.

These initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to ensure that urban growth aligns with infrastructure development for long-term sustainability.

The meeting highlighted how these projects contribute to sustainable urban planning by integrating urban expansion with necessary infrastructure improvements.

This approach ensures that as cities grow, they remain well-connected through efficient road networks that support both current needs and future developments.

The SEC's discussions underscore its commitment to enhancing public services while preserving cultural heritage through thoughtful planning and community-focused initiatives.
