Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival Unveils SEF X 1Tank Startup Pitch Competition For Innovative Startups

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF) 2025 has introduced the SEF x 1Tank Startup Pitch Competition. This event is a significant opportunity for entrepreneurs to vie for grants totalling AED200,000. Additionally, participants have the chance to secure investor funding up to AED500,000 and win complimentary flights with Air Arabia.

The competition will focus on four main sectors: EdTech, Sustainability, Creative Industries, and Tech & Industry 4.0. Startups worldwide are invited to present innovative solutions addressing challenges in these areas. Interested applicants must submit their pitch decks, company profiles, and a short video introduction by 26th January 2025 through the official website.

From the applications received, 16 startups will be shortlisted—four from each track. A panel of judges and investors will select these finalists. The chosen startups will then have three minutes to pitch their business ideas live at SEF 2025. This presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with influential leaders and investors.

Organised by the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa), this year's event partners with '1Tank', an initiative under '1trepreneur'. It serves as a high-stakes platform where selected startups can present their ideas to investors for immediate funding. The festival aims to empower entrepreneurs with resources needed to transform industries.

Event Highlights

The festival is scheduled from 1st to 2nd February 2025 and will feature over 300 globally renowned speakers across ten curated zones and five stages. Each track offers an AED50,000 grant as an essential stepping stone for ambitious startups aiming to redefine industries through disruptive innovation.

This year's competition underscores its focus on addressing global challenges while encouraging groundbreaking ideas that can reshape various sectors. The event promises an engaging platform for startups eager to make impactful contributions in their respective fields.
