SEF 2025 Achieves Record Attendance With 14,000 Participants And Global Speakers In Sharjah

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF) 2025 concluded with a remarkable turnout of 14,000 attendees and 300 speakers from around the world. The event spanned two days and featured ten curated zones and five stages. SEF has announced its next edition will occur from 31st January to 1st February 2026, continuing its tradition of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Sharjah.

SEF 2025 was a significant platform for entrepreneurs, providing numerous opportunities for growth. The festival's agenda included networking sessions, funding avenues, and increased exposure for small and medium enterprises. Attendees engaged in discussions and panels that offered practical insights to refine ideas and scale ventures. This environment strengthened Sharjah’s role as a hub for innovation.

SEF 2025 Welcomes Record Attendance in Sharjah

Three key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the festival, highlighting SEF's commitment to innovation. On the first day, Microsoft partnered with Sheraa, Shurooq, and AUS to drive digital transformation using AI solutions. Another MoU between SRTIP and Enterprise Ireland aimed at fostering international cooperation was also signed.

The second day saw another MoU between '1MoreThing Venture Studio' and Sheraa. This collaboration seeks to attract global startups to Sharjah by offering them access to investors, mentors, and resources. These agreements are expected to have a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sharjah.

SEF 2025 showcased over 250 activities, including 45 workshops designed to support startups and innovators. More than 150 startup pods allowed emerging ventures to present their ideas. Additionally, the SEF Investor Lounge hosted 400 exclusive meetings with investors, opening doors for potential funding and mentorship opportunities.

A highlight of the festival was the SEF x 1Tank Startup Pitch Competition. It offered grants totaling AED200,000 and potential investor funding up to AED500,000. This competition provided a springboard for new disruptors in the entrepreneurial landscape.

Celebrating Achievements in Entrepreneurship

The SEFFY Awards recognised individuals and organisations contributing significantly to Sharjah’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. These awards celebrated achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship within the region. The festival also doubled its program size compared to previous years, expanding its grounds to accommodate growing interest.

Sara Abdelaziz Al Nuaimi, CEO of Sheraa, commented on SEF's success: "Under the visionary leadership and strategic guidance of our Chairperson, Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Sheraa has expanded the entrepreneurial opportunities within the region and positioned Sharjah as a global hub for innovation and collaboration."

Cultural Highlights

The festival concluded with musical performances by top regional artists. Egyptian icon Hamza Namira delivered a crowd-pulling act that highlighted the evening's entertainment segment. This cultural aspect added vibrancy to the event's conclusion.

SEF 2025 exemplified growth by doubling its program size while expanding its reach globally. It set new standards by equipping entrepreneurs with tools, knowledge, and networks necessary for success. The festival continues building a future where innovation thrives without limits.
