Sharjah Energy Council's Third Meeting Focuses On Sustainable Development And Future Energy Projects

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, led the Energy Council's third meeting on Thursday. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Petroleum Department, was also present. The meeting took place at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.

The Council examined several future projects aimed at sustainable development. These included initiatives in solar energy, energy storage, and power supply to data centres across Sharjah. Such projects are crucial for supporting growth and diversifying energy sources in the emirate.

A significant topic was a proposed legislation for electricity generation from rooftop systems at the consumer–producer level. This initiative is part of a broader plan to promote clean energy solutions within the emirate.

The Council explored plans for developing the Hadiba Field, aligning with efforts to diversify Sharjah's energy projects. This development is seen as vital for supporting economic growth and expanding energy resources in the region.

Additionally, a waste-to-energy project was discussed. This project aims to provide clean energy while supporting various community and developmental initiatives within the sector.
