Sharjah Crown Prince Opens Second Regular Session Of The Consultative Council With Focus On Community Development

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, officially opened the second regular session of the eleventh legislative term of the Sharjah Consultative Council. The event took place on Thursday morning at the Council’s headquarters, attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah.

The Crown Prince expressed gratitude to the Chairman and members of the SCC for their dedication in the previous session. He praised their efforts in working with the government to serve public interests, following the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the SCC, welcomed the Crown Prince's presence at the opening session. He emphasised that this reflects a commitment to continuing national work initiated by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi since 1999 when the Council was established as a national parliament.

Al Nuaimi highlighted that the Sharjah Consultative Council serves as a platform for consultation and collaboration among leadership, government, council members, and society. The focus is on fulfilling residents' aspirations through development and prosperity aligned with the vision of Sharjah's Ruler.

The Crown Prince spoke about Sharjah's achievements in recent years under the guidance of its Ruler. He mentioned progress in education, housing, employment, services, infrastructure, and food security aimed at benefiting Sharjah's people.

He acknowledged these accomplishments were possible due to divine grace and support from Sharjah's Ruler. The Crown Prince urged all government agencies in Sharjah to collaborate for public interest and maintain existing achievements.

Ceremonial Proceedings

The ceremony began with the Crown Prince's arrival at the Consultative Council Hall, marked by playing the UAE national anthem followed by Quranic verses recitation. Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of SCC, read Emiri Decree No. 56 of 2024 regarding summoning SCC for its second regular session.

After his speech, he announced: "On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi...we inaugurate your esteemed Council...We ask God Almighty that this opening will be an opening of goodness..."

Focus on Collaboration

The SCC is committed to enhancing communication with citizens while incorporating their opinions into decision-making processes through legislative oversight capabilities focused on prioritising national needs.

The council actively engages in meetings seeking consultations conducting essential studies providing informed guidance shaping future endeavours emphasising collaborative efforts attaining nation’s objectives steering towards comprehensive development project emirateof Sharjah resolute steps astute discernment.
