Sharjah Strengthens Ties With Guinea Through Higher Education And Civil Aviation Initiatives
The Sharjah Department of Government Relations (DGR) recently hosted a high-level delegation from Guinea, led by Sekou Cherifke Camara, the Guinean Ambassador to the UAE. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in higher education, civil aviation, and cultural exchange. Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of DGR, welcomed the ambassador and highlighted the importance of dialogue with African nations.
During their meeting, the Guinean ambassador expressed interest in encouraging students from Guinea to study in Sharjah. He discussed potential scholarship opportunities and visits to academic institutions across the emirate. These visits aim to provide insights into Sharjah's educational environment and offerings. Such initiatives are expected to strengthen educational ties between Sharjah and Guinea.

The meeting also explored collaboration possibilities with Air Arabia to establish direct flights between Sharjah and Guinea. Both parties recognised that such a development could significantly enhance connectivity. This would advance economic, commercial, and cultural relations between the two regions. A follow-up meeting with relevant stakeholders is planned to further explore this initiative.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi commented on the visit, stating that Sharjah is committed to strengthening its relations with African nations.
