Sharjah Consultative Council Establishes Permanent Committees To Enhance Governance And Women's Participation

Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, who chairs the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), led its initial procedural meeting. During this session, the council discussed forming its permanent committees. These committees cover various areas such as legislative affairs, financial matters, education, health, and family issues. The council agreed to maintain these existing committees to ensure continuity in their operations.

The Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee is chaired by Mohammed Ali Jaber Al Hammadi. Hamad Abdul Wahab Al Qawadi serves as the rapporteur. Other members include Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Khalifa Mohammed Bu Ghanem, Obaid Ishaq Al Mazmi, Hamad Abdullah Hamed Al Riyami, and Rashed Saleh Al Hammadi.

Sharjah Council Establishes Permanent Committees

Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden leads the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqrab is the rapporteur. The committee also includes Amer Mohammed Al Zarouni, Nabil bin Butti Al Muhairi, Abdullah Taresh Al Ketbi, Tariq Murad Mirza Al Belushi, and Mohammed Abdullah Al Belushi.

The Education, Youth, Culture and Media Affairs Committee is headed by Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi with Dr. Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi as rapporteur. Members are Kalthum Saif Al Tunaiji, Sheikha Khalfan Salem Al Dhain Al Naqbi, Moza Muadhd Bin Huwaiden, Yousef Mohammed Al Mazrouei, and Mohammed Ali Al Mannai.

Mohammed Saleh Al Ali chairs the Health, Labour and Social Affairs Committee. Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri acts as rapporteur alongside Dr. Ruqayya Rashid Al Zaabi, Issa Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni, Ali Salem Al Shamsi, Ahmed Salem Humaidi Al Ketbi, and Khalfan Saif Al Mesafri.

The Islamic Affairs Committee includes Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi as chairperson with Ahmed Rashid Al Shamsi as rapporteur. Other members are Sultan Saeed Dalmouk Al Suwaidi, Majid Ahmed Al Darwishi Al Shamsi, Fatima Mohammed Khasouni Al Ketbi, Ahmed Obaid Al Awasiyah Al Zaabi, and Salem Mohammed Al Rashidi.

Saeed Matar bin Hamed Al Tunaiji leads the Family Affairs Committee with Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi as rapporteur. The committee consists of Abdullah Ali Al Badawi Al Hosani, Abdullah Rashid Ma’dan Al Ketbi, Abdullah Salem bin TarishAl Kaabi, Mohammed AhmedAl Dhahouriand Hamid ObaidAl Hamoudi.

The Recommendations Preparation Committee is chaired by Jassim MohammedAl HanawiAl Naqbi with Dr. Sultan KhamisAl Zaabi serving as rapporteur. Other members include Ibrahim Mohammed JumaAl Mansouri , Issa AbdullahAl Kalbani , Sultan AliAl Masafri , Obaid Ahmed KhasawAl Naqbi , and Mohammed Ali Bin SalimAl Ketbi .

Upcoming Sessions Focus

In this session's proceedings , Dr . Ahmed SalehAl Naqbi and Dr . Ruqayya RashidAl Zaabi were elected observers . Notably , Dr . Ruqayya became the first woman to hold this position since its inception . This decision highlights an ongoing commitment to empowering women within parliamentary roles .

The next SCC session is planned for October 24th . It will focus on discussing a proposed law concerning activities of Sharjah Digital Department . This legislation aims at regulating digital operations effectively within Sharjah's jurisdiction .
