Sharjah Emergency Teams Successfully Contain Al Hamriyah Port Fire Within 24 Hours
A fire erupted at Al Hamriyah Port in Sharjah at 6:10 a.m. on Saturday, ignited by petrochemical materials. The Local Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Team swiftly contained the blaze. Their coordinated response was marked by precise execution and institutional integration.
Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, leading the Sharjah Police and the local emergency team, confirmed that the fire was fully contained by 6:25 a.m. on Sunday. This achievement came within 24 hours of the incident's onset. Cooling operations have commenced at the site to ensure safety.

Specialised technical teams are investigating the cause of the fire. These teams are from forensic and laboratory departments and will assess damages in collaboration with relevant authorities. Official results will be announced after completing all technical procedures.
The response to the fire was highly professional from the start, according to Major General bin Amer. Teams followed a structured plan focusing on firefighting, securing the area, and isolating risk sources. They utilised advanced equipment supported by local and national entities.
The collaborative effort included various organisations such as the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, National Guard, NCEMA, civil defense departments across the UAE, Joint Aviation Command, Sharjah municipalities, Sharjah Civil Aviation Department, Sharjah Airport Authority, and ADNOC. This teamwork prevented the fire from spreading to nearby facilities.

The head of the local emergency team attributed their success to divine favour first and foremost. He also highlighted swift response times, field efficiency, and effective coordination as key factors. These elements showcased a well-prepared emergency response system prioritising safety above all else.
