Sharjah Collection By Shurooq Achieves Eight Global Titles At The 2025 World Luxury Hotel Awards
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has solidified its reputation in sustainable tourism. Its flagship brand, Sharjah Collection, recently secured eight awards at the 2025 World Luxury Awards. These accolades spanned both regional and global categories, underscoring the brand's commitment to eco-luxury and cultural authenticity.
Kingfisher Retreat in Kalba was honoured as the Best Luxury Eco Resort and Best Luxury Sustainable Resort in the Middle East. This recognition was due to its eco-friendly approach within a protected mangrove ecosystem. Al Badayer Retreat also received accolades as the Best Luxury Cultural Retreat in the Middle East and Best Luxury Desert Resort globally, thanks to its blend of Bedouin architecture with modern comforts.

Al Faya Retreat in Mleiha earned titles for Best Luxury Boutique Retreat in the Middle East and Best Luxury Wellbeing Retreat globally. Its minimalist design and wellness focus were key factors. Meanwhile, Wishi Restaurant at Najd Al Meqsar in Khorfakkan was recognised for offering a unique Emirati dining experience with stunning views of Wadi Wishi.
These awards highlight Shurooq's dedication to redefining luxury through sustainability, heritage preservation, and cultural continuity. Each retreat showcases Shurooq's efforts to transform Sharjah’s landscapes into destinations that balance economic growth with environmental protection and community engagement.
Shurooq has invested over AED300 million into the Sharjah Collection, part of its AED850 million hospitality portfolio. This investment supports Sharjah’s emergence as a hub for conscious tourism aligned with global trends in sustainable travel.
Future Projects and Global Recognition
Sharjah Collection is expanding with new projects like Nomad in Kalba, set to open in late 2025. This project will introduce off-grid luxury and community-based eco-tourism on the east coast. The World Luxury Awards, established in 2006, honour excellence across hospitality sectors. The 2025 results reinforce Shurooq’s vision of positioning Sharjah as a world-class destination for travellers seeking authentic experiences.
Ahmed Ben Zaied, General Manager of Sharjah Collection, stated: "Winning eight awards at the World Luxury Awards 2025 celebrates Sharjah’s emergence as a global reference for sustainable luxury. These recognitions affirm Shurooq’s dedication to integrating nature, culture, and innovation in every guest experience."
