Sharjah Sports Club Claims Victory At Emirati-Korean Taekwondo Championship With 20 Medals
Sharjah Sports Club emerged victorious in the eighth Emirati-Korean Taekwondo Friendship Championship. The event was held at the Sharjah Sports Club gymnasium in Al Hazana, featuring over 190 participants from 12 clubs across the nation. Sharjah's athletes secured their sixth championship title by winning 20 medals, including five golds, six silvers, and nine bronzes, showcasing their dominance in the men's category.
The club's triumph was celebrated amidst a vibrant atmosphere, with players demonstrating impressive skills. Engineer Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, a board member and head of individual games, praised the team's exceptional performance. He acknowledged the efforts of the administrative and coaching staff led by Captain Abdullah Hatem. Al-Hajri expressed confidence in the team's ability to achieve remarkable results both locally and internationally.

In recent competitions, Sharjah Sports Club has consistently excelled. The team won six medals at the G1-ranked Qatar International Open Championship and added two golds and silvers at the G1-ranked Croatia International Open Championship. These accomplishments reflect the effective strategies implemented in managing individual games within the club.
Al-Hajri highlighted that the Taekwondo team met expectations by adding another achievement to their record. He emphasised their goal of securing first place in all competitions they enter. The club remains committed to preparing its teams for participation in upcoming championships, ensuring they are ready to compete at high levels.
The championship was attended by several notable figures, including Yoo Jehseung, Ambassador of Korea to the UAE; Engineer Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al-Hajri; Zayed Al-Suwaidi, Vice President of the UAE Taekwondo Federation; Abdullah Al-Samaha, General Secretary of the Federation; Mohammed Al-Mudnay, head of competitions' committee; and Khalid Al-Muqbali, head of referees' committee.
Sharjah Sports Club's victory underscores their status as a leading force in taekwondo. Their consistent success is attributed to strategic planning and dedicated preparation.
