Sharjah Children Concludes Spring Camp With Educational And Fun Activities For Kids
Sharjah Children, a key initiative under the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, recently wrapped up its spring camp, marking a significant milestone with the participation of 588 young attendees aged between 6 and 12 years. This event stood out for its comprehensive range of programmes and activities that skillfully blended entertainment with educational content, aiming to channel the youthful energy of its participants into productive and enjoyable pursuits.
The camp boasted over 23 diverse activities and workshops, meticulously designed to reflect the cultural and spiritual essence of the holy month of Ramadan. Among these were innovative reading workshops like "Glowing Tales," "Ramadan in the Emirates," and "Star and Crescent Tales," which were specifically tailored to nurture creativity and advance reading skills among the young participants.
Furthermore, the camp offered a variety of specialised activities across different tracks, including life skills, sports, arts, and technology. The life skills track featured workshops such as the Values Ambassadors, My Craft, My Health, My Wooden Wallet, and Needle and Thread. These sessions aimed at imparting valuable sewing and embroidery skills to children, alongside teaching them to craft simple handmade items like bags and paintings.
In the realm of sports, the camp facilitated numerous activities designed to enhance physical fitness and develop sportsmanship among children. Activities included basketball, football, tennis, chess, a sports incubator programme, and access to a professional swimming pool. These sports sessions were instrumental in promoting health and skill development among the young attendees.
Artistically inclined participants had the opportunity to delve into various art workshops focusing on photography fundamentals, creative editing techniques, and producing Ramadan-themed artistic works using botanical and Islamic decorations. These workshops aimed not only to refine the participants' artistic skills but also to elevate their creative expression capabilities.
Additionally, technical workshops introduced children to the concepts of clean and renewable energy and smart agriculture. These sessions were designed to provide foundational knowledge in these critical areas, fostering a sense of curiosity and understanding of sustainable practices among the younger generation.
