Sharjah Chamber Collaborates With University Of Navarra To Launch International Training Programmes

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), recently engaged in a strategic meeting with Spain's University of Navarra. The focus was on enhancing cooperation to launch globally recognised training and academic programmes. These initiatives aim to cover areas like executive leadership, business administration, and digital transformation, reflecting SCCI's dedication to improving employee efficiency and leadership skills across sectors.

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General of Support Services Sector at SCCI, emphasised the value this collaboration brings to their strategic vision. She stated that the partnership aligns with international best practices to empower human resources. "This cooperation supports the Chamber’s efforts to strengthen Sharjah’s position as a regional hub for training and leadership development," she said, highlighting the access it provides to innovative curricula.

During the meeting, STDC showcased its Strategic Business Leadership Programme, which has graduated 38 participants from both public and private sectors over three editions. The discussion also included plans for a joint international training programme targeting government employees and private sector professionals. This programme aims to adhere to global standards in training and qualification, ensuring effective outcomes for future challenges.

Amal Abdullah Al Ali, Director of STDC, noted that the meeting set the stage for innovative training pathways tailored to evolving market needs. She highlighted that these programmes will focus on management, strategic leadership, and digital competencies. This approach is aligned with the demands of the new economy and rapid digital transformation.

The collaboration with University of Navarra is part of STDC's strategy to expand global partnerships. Amal Abdullah Al Ali mentioned that this ensures high-impact programmes that enhance institutional performance and foster innovation in workplaces. The planned initiatives aim to prepare national professionals for future challenges by strengthening their capabilities.

The meeting builds upon a strategic agreement made in May between STDC and University of Navarra. This agreement aims to establish joint training programmes, facilitate expert exchanges, and pursue international accreditation for STDC's offerings. Such efforts are intended to elevate programme quality and align skill development with global standards in leadership education.

Jaime García del Barrio, Vice President of University of Navarra, along with Ramzi Jazmati from the university's Middle East division, attended the meeting at SCCI headquarters. Several officials from both organisations were present as well. They explored frameworks for implementing joint initiatives designed to deliver efficient outcomes capable of addressing future challenges.

This initiative underscores Sharjah Chamber’s commitment to enhancing STDC’s role in delivering impactful training programmes. It aims to improve employee efficiency while contributing significantly to leadership development within both public and private sectors.

The collaboration is seen as a step towards achieving UAE’s sustainable development goals by providing access to advanced educational methodologies prioritising innovation and creativity within institutions.
