Sharjah Chamber Showcases Investment Opportunities In Food Industry At SIAL Paris 2024

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Exports Development Center (SEDC), took part in SIAL Paris 2024. This event, held from 19th to 23rd October in Paris, France, is a major international food and beverage trade show. It attracted around 7,500 exhibitors from over 130 countries, drawing thousands of global visitors.

Representing the Emirate of Sharjah, the Chamber set up a pavilion at SIAL Paris 2024. This pavilion included various government and private institutions and key national factories involved in food product manufacturing and trade. The primary goal was to boost Sharjah’s global presence, promote local food industries, and attract foreign investments.

Investment Opportunities at SIAL Paris 2024

The delegation from the Chamber included Lamia Abdul Rahman Al Jasmi, who heads the Exporter Services and Market Management Section at SCCI, and Sultan Abdullah Al Ali, Head of Investor Services Section. Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, highlighted that this marks the third consecutive participation by the Sharjah Chamber in this exhibition over six years.

This ongoing participation reflects SCCI’s dedication to maintaining a strong presence at significant international events within the food and beverage sector. It aligns with their strategic vision to advance Sharjah’s food industry sector. The aim is to enhance competitiveness of UAE food products, explore new export opportunities, and support sustainable food security efforts.

During SIAL Paris 2024, the Chamber aimed to strengthen its role in empowering national companies within the food industry while attracting more foreign investments to Sharjah. This effort helps establish Sharjah as a leading regional hub in the food industry and supports innovation for developing competitive products aligned with global food security goals.

Showcasing Emirati Products

The pavilion served as an attractive platform for showcasing high-quality Emirati-manufactured food products known for their diversity. Exhibits included dates, honey, dairy products, beverages among others. These displays were well-received by key stakeholders in attendance at the event.

Numerous fruitful meetings took place between local manufacturers and international counterparts as part of Sharjah Chamber’s participation program. These interactions fostered potential collaborations among major professionals within the global food sector.

SCCI's involvement underscores its commitment to supporting UAE's sustainable food security initiatives while unlocking new markets globally. By participating in such events regularly over recent years demonstrates their dedication towards driving development within this vital industry sector.
