Sharjah Chamber Hosts Inaugural Meeting Of Pakistan Business Council To Enhance Trade And Investment Ties

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently hosted the first meeting for the founding members of the Pakistan Business Council in Sharjah. This council, launched earlier this month, aims to enhance trade and investment connections between Sharjah and Pakistan. It seeks to foster sustainable economic growth that benefits both regions.

During this initial meeting, Dr. Syed Muhammad Tahir was appointed as Chairman of the Council. Syed Saleem Akhtar took on the role of First Vice-Chairman, Amer Hassan became Second Vice-Chairman, and Salman Wasal was named Honorary Treasurer. The council members discussed creating a comprehensive strategy and action plan to achieve their objectives.

Inaugural Pakistan Business Council Meeting in Sharjah

The council plans to host regular networking events for business leaders and investors from both Sharjah and Pakistan. These gatherings aim to facilitate expertise exchange and explore cooperation opportunities across various sectors. Additionally, they stressed the importance of trade delegation exchanges to engage directly with investment potentials in both countries.

Fatema Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of the International Relations Department at SCCI, highlighted the chamber's focus on business councils. She noted their crucial role in enhancing economic cooperation and fostering partnerships that drive private sector growth. Al Muqarrab mentioned that the Sharjah Chamber is committed to strengthening trade ties between Sharjah and countries represented by these councils.

Al Muqarrab reaffirmed SCCI's ongoing support for the Pakistan Business Council since its inception earlier this month. The chamber has been involved in every step, from the inauguration ceremony to selecting board members. They will continue guiding the council as it moves into a more active phase, promoting sustained growth between Sharjah and Pakistan at the private sector level.

Dr. Syed Muhammad Tahir stated that the council's strategy focuses on launching targeted promotional initiatives highlighting attractive investment environments in both regions. These efforts aim to showcase available business opportunities across key sectors while creating a comprehensive database of businesses in both countries for streamlined communication and collaboration.

The chamber will maintain its supportive role as the council progresses into future initiatives. This collaboration aims to promote sustained growth between Sharjah and Pakistan at a private sector level, ensuring mutual benefits for both regions.
