Sharjah Chamber Spotlights Investment Opportunities At Sohar Forum 2024
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has recently concluded its participation in the Sohar Investment Forum 2024, which took place on February 26 and 27 in Sohar, North Batinah Governorate, Oman. This event, hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, saw the gathering of over 600 delegates and participants from around the world, representing 20 countries. The forum served as a melting pot for prominent business leaders and investors from various economic sectors.
Under the leadership of Waleed Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Second Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at SCCI, the Sharjah Chamber's delegation included distinguished figures who delved into the investment opportunities presented at the forum. The team engaged in meaningful discussions and networking sessions with top officials from Arab and international commerce chambers and business figures. These interactions underscored Sharjah's appealing business environment and investment incentives across multiple sectors.

Waleed Bukhatir highlighted the SCCI's dedication to participating in Gulf, regional, and international business forums. He noted these events as crucial for exchanging insights with representatives from various chambers of commerce and business communities globally. Bukhatir pointed out that such forums are instrumental in exploring investment prospects in diverse environments while promoting Sharjah's dynamic investment landscape.
During their time at the forum, the SCCI’s delegation was introduced to 104 investment opportunities in the North Batinah Governorate. These opportunities, collectively valued at approximately one billion Omani riyals, span eight key sectors: industry, logistics, circular economy, mining, food security, tourism, information technology, and healthcare. Additionally, the delegation made visits to the Port of Sohar and several specialized industrial zones.
The participation of the SCCI in the Sohar Investment Forum 2024 not only showcased Sharjah's commitment to economic diversification but also highlighted the emirate's advantages for foreign and direct investors. Through such engagements, Sharjah continues to affirm its position as a leading destination for investment within the region.
