Sharjah Chamber Strengthens Global Competencies Through Strategic Partnerships In Spain

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), recently completed a visit to Spain. The aim was to forge academic and training partnerships, enhance leadership skills, and promote knowledge exchange with Spanish institutions. This initiative reflects SCCI's commitment to empowering national talent with global expertise.

During the visit, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed with the University of Navarra. This partnership focuses on developing joint academic programs, facilitating expert exchanges, and supporting international accreditation for STDC's offerings. Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Support Services at SCCI, signed the agreement alongside Jaime García del Barrio from the University of Navarra.

Sharjah Chamber Expands Competencies in Spain

The delegation also visited the University of Salamanca, one of Europe's oldest universities. They signed another cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing academic programs and scholarly exchanges. This aligns with STDC's vision to become a global hub for leadership development and innovation.

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi emphasized that these agreements are crucial milestones for STDC. She noted that they reflect SCCI's dedication to raising the international quality standards of its programs and empowering national talent with world-class skills.

As part of their agenda, STDC organized a "Design Thinking" workshop at the University of Granada under SCCI’s Strategic Business Leadership program. This workshop is part of ongoing initiatives to boost executive leadership through advanced methodologies.

The delegation also met with Ibrahim Ali Al Nuaimi from the UAE Embassy in Spain. Discussions focused on securing international accreditation for STDC’s programs, supported by recent agreements with four Spanish institutions. These partnerships aim to facilitate expertise exchange and deliver accredited programs.

Exploring Academic Excellence

A field visit to the University of Granada was conducted to strengthen knowledge partnerships. The delegation explored advanced academic experiences in leadership and strategic management during meetings with university officials.

The tour concluded with visits to the Archaeological Restoration Center at the University of Granada and the Alhambra Palace. These visits highlighted Spain's rich historical heritage while fostering global leadership collaborations.

This initiative underscores SCCI’s commitment to enhancing its training centre's global standing by aligning with international standards in leadership development and institutional innovation.
