Sharjah Chamber Of Commerce And Industry Discusses Strategic Business Training Development In Spain
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), has concluded its official visit to Spain. This visit was part of SCCI’s Strategic Business Leadership programme, launched in collaboration with the Granada Chamber of Commerce and the University of Granada.
The programme aims to enhance the strategic leadership and business management capabilities of human resources in both government and private sector institutions. It offers innovative solutions and drafts strategic plans to improve organisational performance.

Headed by Amal Abdullah Al Ali, STDC Director, the Sharjah Chamber’s delegation included employees from various government and private sector entities in the emirate. They held several meetings with officials from the Granada Chamber of Commerce and its affiliate training centre.
During these meetings, the delegation outlined the objectives and key focus areas of the Strategic Business Leadership programme. They also explored ways to enhance cooperation between both sides in developing human resources’ strategic leadership and business management skills.
The delegation visited the University of Granada, engaging in multiple discussions with experts and specialists in administrative fields. These discussions aimed to exchange insights on leadership in strategy development, share best practices in management, and discuss methods for advancing leadership programmes in commercial and strategic sectors.
The focus was on developing skills essential for strategic decision-making and anticipating future business trends.
Ambassador's Reception
Omar Obaid Alshamsi, the Ambassador of the UAE to Spain, welcomed the Sharjah Chamber delegation. He received a briefing on the objectives of the Strategic Business Leadership programme and the outcomes of their tour to Spain.
The delegation highlighted the programme’s role in facilitating the exchange of expertise and experiences, adopting best global practices for developing human resource capabilities in strategic planning.
Programme's Impact
Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for the Support Services Sector at SCCI, stated that the Strategic Business Leadership programme is one of SCCI’s most innovative initiatives. It focuses on empowering participants to make strategic decisions, anticipate future trends, and build more effective strategies.
She emphasised that the tour enhanced the programme’s outcomes by providing participants with opportunities to explore global practices in business management. The tour offered valuable hands-on experiences, insights into diverse work environments, and understanding of innovative strategies adopted by participating institutions.
Future Collaboration
Al Shamsi noted that meetings conducted during the tour will lead to extensive future collaboration and joint efforts in training and innovation between both sides.
Graduation Project Component
Amal Abdullah Al Ali highlighted that the tour was an integral component of the Strategic Business Leadership programme’s graduation project. It involved a series of business meetings conducted over several days.
The delegation engaged with experts from Spain-based economic and academic institutions to discuss methods used to assess business risks, a cornerstone in strategic decision-making. They explored the Value Curve model and how to implement proposed strategies compared to global practices observed.
Field Visits
The Sharjah Chamber conducted several field visits in Granada, aimed at gaining insights into strategic business management practices. These visits enriched participants' knowledge and skills as part of concluding the "Strategic Business Leadership" programme.
