Sharjah Chamber Hosts Sessions To Elevate Export Performance And Growth

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently held a pivotal series of brainstorming sessions aimed at enhancing the export capabilities of businesses within the emirate. This initiative, focusing on elevating business performance and understanding their needs, saw the participation of entrepreneurs from leading industrial firms across various sectors. The event, spanning two days, was a collaborative effort between the SCCI’s Sharjah Exports Development Centre (SEDC) and sectoral business groups under the chamber’s umbrella.

Hosted at the scenic Kingfisher Retreat in Kalba City, the sessions were graced by notable figures such as Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, and Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector in SCCI. Ali Al Jari, Director of SEDC, and Amjad Awad Al Karim, Head of SCCI's Sectoral Business Groups Section, also played significant roles in the discussions. The primary focus was on streamlining operations within the private sector to bolster economic growth in Sharjah and enhance communication between the chamber and its members.

Boosting Sharjah's Export Performance

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation by Emirates Development Bank (EDB), which detailed its banking services and credit facilities. This was part of EDB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its partnership with the private sector and facilitate new business ventures. Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi reiterated SCCI’s dedication to advancing the business industry and its integral role in achieving sustainable economic development.

The brainstorming sessions delved into strategies for increasing Sharjah's share in exports by adhering to global best practices. Participants from diverse sectors discussed opportunities for growth and expansion in exports, aiming to support sustained economic growth through positive business practices. Moderated by Bashar Safadi, the discussions also touched upon enhancing performance through inter-sectoral cooperation and learning from global success stories.

Key areas of focus included developing human resources for leadership and competitiveness in the export sector and fostering cooperation between SCCI and other entities to support Sharjah's economy. The sessions concluded with innovative ideas aimed at revitalizing the business environment and boosting Sharjah's capacity for exports.
