Sharjah Central Laboratories Achieves 25 Years Of International Certification By UKAS

Sharjah City Municipality revealed that its Central Laboratories Department has secured international certification from the British certification body, "UKAS," for the 25th consecutive year. This milestone marks a quarter-century of excellence since 1999.

Adel Omar, Director of Public Health and Central Laboratories, highlighted the municipality's dedication to continuous improvement and advanced technology. He stated that their distinguished staff adheres to the highest global standards, ensuring high-quality services and accurate results. This commitment aligns with their goals of enhancing public health and maintaining a high-quality environment in Sharjah.

25 Years of UKAS Excellence in Sharjah

The Veterinary Laboratory's international accreditation has bolstered the department's ongoing success. Sheikha Dr. Najla Ali Al Mualla, Director of the Central Laboratories Department, noted that all municipal laboratories have now received UKAS accreditation. These include the Food Laboratory, Environment and Consumer Products Laboratory, Construction Materials Laboratory, and Veterinary Laboratory.

Sheikha Dr. Najla Ali Al Mualla emphasised that Sharjah Municipality's laboratories are continually improving quality and enhancing analysis procedures using cutting-edge technology. The department is committed to introducing new equipment and technology to keep pace with the emirate's overall development and evolving life aspects.

The municipality has provided various analysis and auditing services over these years, improving public health in line with its strategic goals. Their vision is to ensure a healthy environment and preserve Sharjah's status as the first Healthy City in the Middle East and North Africa.
