Sharjah Book Authority And Invest Bank Collaborate To Enhance Children's Financial Literacy
The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has partnered with Invest Bank to create a children's storybook focused on financial literacy. This initiative aims to enhance cultural and educational awareness among young readers. Supported by the Sharjah Publishing Sustainability Fund (Onshur), it promotes sustainable publishing in the UAE.
Targeting children aged eight and above, the book will simplify key financial concepts in an engaging manner. It is scheduled for release at the upcoming Sharjah International Book Fair. A UAE-based publisher, who graduated from the Onshur programme, will publish it.

Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, SBA CEO, highlighted that this initiative aligns with H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's vision of fostering human development through books. He stated, "Financial literacy is just as important as reading and general knowledge. Through this collaboration, we present a model that combines culture and economic awareness in a format that resonates with children and families."
Edris Al Rafi, CEO of Invest Bank, emphasised the importance of early financial education for building an informed society. He noted, "Investing in financial education from an early age is essential for building a more informed society. This partnership allows us to introduce children to financial principles through storytelling, creativity and imagination."
The agreement was signed during the 16th Sharjah Children's Reading Festival by Iman Ben Chaibah from SBA and Humaida Al Khalsan from Invest Bank. The event was attended by Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri and Edris Al Rafi.
Onshur, initiated by SBA under Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi's guidance, supports emerging publishers through development tracks aimed at creating a resilient publishing ecosystem in Sharjah.
This collaboration between SBA and Invest Bank represents a significant step towards integrating cultural enrichment with economic education for young minds in the UAE.
