SGCA 2024: Seeking Impactful Initiatives For Youth And Children

The 11th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) is seeking standout initiatives and campaigns that have positively impacted children and youth. This prestigious award features two specialised categories: Best Communication Targeting Youth and Best Communication Project Targeting Children and Adolescents. Candidates can submit their applications until 1st August 2024, at www.igcc.ae.

The Best Communication Targeting Youth category includes two subcategories. The first, Best Campaign Positively Impacting Youth Awareness and Practices, celebrates institutions that use modern technology to launch impactful communication campaigns. The criteria focus on creativity, youth engagement, sustainability, and transparency in information dissemination.

The second subcategory, Best Communication Programme Supporting Emerging Projects and Youth, honours individuals or entities that support youth projects, startups, or emerging businesses. This can be achieved through education, providing practical solutions to business challenges, or encouraging the building of influential networks.

The Best Communication Project Targeting Children and Adolescents category offers awards for both the government and private sectors. This category celebrates innovative communication works that positively impact the mental and social development of children and adolescents. It includes a wide range of content from television programmes to educational games.

This award recognises works that deliver engaging educational content, promote values such as friendship and empathy, and prioritise inclusivity. Ideal projects encourage positive interaction among children, maintain a safe environment, respect their rights and privacy, and ensure a lasting impact in line with child protection standards.

Submission Guidelines

To ensure a successful submission to the SGCA, applicants are advised to submit an executive summary not exceeding 250 words. Additionally, a comprehensive 1,000-word file using headings, paragraphs, and illustrations should support the submission. Introductory media such as infographics, videos, and photos are also recommended.

Participants can submit their works on the SGCA website, which provides comprehensive details about all categories, criteria, and participation requirements.
