Sharjah Asset Management Welcomes Dutch Delegation To Discuss Sustainable Real Estate Collaboration

Sharjah Asset Management, the investment division of the Sharjah Government, recently hosted a prominent delegation from the Consulate-General of the Netherlands in Dubai. The visit aimed to enhance communication and explore collaborative opportunities in creating climate-neutral real estate in desert settings. Discussions focused on sharing expertise in energy-efficient technologies and practices that align with long-term sustainability objectives.

The delegation was warmly received by Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Asset Management, alongside Ibrahim Al Houti, Chief Officer-Executive Office, and other senior officials. The visiting group included Ms Kenza Targaat, Deputy Consul General, and representatives from the "Climate Neutral Real Estate Gulf Region" programme. This programme is a public-private partnership involving twelve Dutch companies specialising in sustainable building development and green financing.

Dutch Delegation Visits Sharjah for Collaboration

The discussions centred on how Dutch expertise can aid in developing more energy-efficient and carbon-neutral buildings. Both parties explored avenues for collaboration in sustainable real estate development. They also discussed adopting international best practices for designing high-efficiency buildings, aligning with the UAE's goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Qasimi commented on the significance of this visit: "This visit represents an important step in strengthening international cooperation in the field of sustainable real estate. We are pleased to host a specialised delegation representing one of the world’s leading countries in green technologies." He emphasised that exchanging expertise with international partners opens broad horizons for developing real estate projects supporting Sharjah's vision for a low-carbon future.
