Sharjah Airport Authority Enhances Strategies For Crisis Management

In a strategic move to bolster the operational readiness of Sharjah Airport in the face of emergencies and crises, Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), convened a crucial coordination meeting. The assembly saw the presence of key figures including Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of SAA, alongside department managers and representatives from Sharjah Civil Aviation Department, Airport Passengers Customs Centre, Ports and Airports Police Department at Sharjah Police, Sharjah Airport Immigration Control Center, and Sharjah Aviation Services company. The primary focus was on discussing and enhancing the proactive and precautionary action plans in place for emergency situations.

The recent weather conditions experienced by the UAE in mid-April underscored the importance of such meetings. Al Midfa praised the efforts of all teams at Sharjah Airport during this period, emphasizing the necessity of collaboration to maintain operational continuity and efficiency under exceptional circumstances. The goal is to continue delivering the highest standards of security and safety for all airport users, aligning with global best practices in aviation and travel.

Sharjah Airport's Crisis Strategy

The meeting's agenda was comprehensive, covering the roles of concerned parties and their activation mechanisms across all airport facilities, including passenger and cargo buildings. A review of the challenges encountered during adverse weather conditions, particularly in managing passenger reception and services within the airport, as well as flight operations and aircraft movement, was conducted.
