Shams Summer Programme Engages Over 70 Children In Creative Workshops And Activities
Sharjah Media City (Shams) wrapped up the initial week of its second summer programme edition, engaging over 70 children aged 6 to 16. The event was lively and interactive, aligning with Shams' vision to offer a comprehensive educational and entertaining experience. This initiative aims to foster children's intellectual and creative growth in a secure and stimulating setting.
The programme's diversity stood out, featuring specialised workshops tailored to children's interests and future needs. Theatre and acting sessions were included to boost self-confidence and enhance expression and speaking skills. A podcast production workshop introduced children to audio and digital media in an engaging way.

Children also took part in basic drawing workshops that refined their artistic abilities. Craft activities encouraged creativity, teamwork, and independent thinking. These activities were designed to nurture various skills while maintaining a fun learning environment.
An inspiring session titled "The Little Influencer" taught children about content creation principles and positive social media influence. This reflects Shams' dedication to connecting children with their digital lives responsibly, promoting conscious technology use.
The week's events weren't solely educational; they included recreational activities like mind games, sports, and recycling projects. These activities aimed to instil sustainability values and environmental awareness among the participants.
All activities were overseen by a team of expert trainers and qualified volunteers. Their presence ensured that the children had a safe, enriching experience throughout the programme.
This balanced approach of education combined with recreation highlights Shams' commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals prepared for future challenges.
