Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Participates In Conference For Peace And Prosperity In Great Lakes Region In Paris
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, attended the Conference for Peace and Prosperity in the Great Lakes region in Paris. The event gathered numerous countries and international organisations to discuss improving humanitarian aid and development, especially in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The UAE pledged US$10 million at the conference to support humanitarian efforts in eastern DRC and neighbouring areas. This commitment aligns with directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The funds will be used alongside international partners and UN agencies to address urgent needs.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan highlighted the UAE’s dedication to easing humanitarian suffering and fostering stability across Africa. He stated that this financial pledge is part of the UAE’s broader strategy of humanitarian solidarity, aiming to assist communities affected by crises.
