Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan Discusses Strengthening Regional Cooperation With IGAD Executive Secretary

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, recently held discussions with Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi. The meeting focused on strengthening ties between the UAE and IGAD, highlighting shared goals for peace and development in the Horn of Africa.

Both parties acknowledged the strong partnership between the UAE and IGAD. They explored ways to enhance cooperation in critical areas such as food security, climate resilience, digital innovation, and infrastructure development. The dialogue underscored a mutual commitment to fostering regional stability through collaborative efforts.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan praised IGAD's efforts in conflict prevention and mediation.
