SGCA 2025 Calls For Global Submissions Of Impactful Digital Content And Communication Initiatives
The Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), is now open for its 12th edition. This global initiative aims to recognise exceptional communication efforts and digital content creators who positively influence societies worldwide. The winners will be revealed in September 2025, with applications accepted until 24th July 2025.
Participants are encouraged to reflect on how communication shapes public discourse and societal progress. The award programme includes 23 categories across five sectors, highlighting innovation in communication. Notably, the 'Best Communication and Media Content' and 'Best Changemakers in Digital Content' categories emphasise media's role in driving change.

The SGCA seeks to honour creators, institutions, and narratives that redefine media across platforms. It values content creation beyond traditional metrics like media reach or digital virality. The awards aim to foster a culture of responsible communication that raises public awareness in today's digital age.
The 'Best Communication and Media Content' category is open to government entities, private institutions, and NGOs globally. It recognises strategically planned communication projects with clear objectives and measurable outcomes. Eligible entries can include public campaigns, documentaries, podcasts, digital platforms, and influential broadcasts.
The SGCA 2025 also highlights individual creators through the 'Best Changemakers in Digital Content' category. This category is divided into Under 18 and Over 18 segments. The Under 18 subcategory celebrates young individuals using social platforms for content that goes beyond entertainment, showing creativity and social responsibility.
Successful entries must demonstrate excellence in production quality and creativity while showcasing strategic communication planning. Applicants need to provide evidence of positive impact such as increased public awareness or documented behavioural changes addressing societal challenges.
Invitation to Global Participants
The SGCA invites creators, organisations, and communicators worldwide to join this prestigious platform. It honours content not just for its reach but for its ability to make a difference. The award encourages meaningful dialogue on critical issues relevant to youth like environmental sustainability or mental well-being.
This year's award programme underscores the power of effective messaging in transforming societies globally. By recognising outstanding initiatives, the SGCA aims to inspire others in the field of communication to contribute positively to societal progress.
