SFDA Warns Consumers About Contaminated Altarouti Chicken Frankfurt Due To Staphylococcus Aureus
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has alerted the public about a health risk linked to "Altarouti" brand Chicken Frankfurt. This product, made in Saudi Arabia, comes in 12-piece packs with an expiration date of 5 April 2026 and batch number L2216.ZCN.F. Tests revealed contamination with Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, which can harm consumers.
Consumers are advised to avoid this chicken product and dispose of it immediately. The SFDA has already taken steps to remove it from the market and halted its production line. Legal proceedings against the manufacturer have begun due to breaches of the Food Law and its regulations.

Penalties for such violations can be severe, including imprisonment for up to 10 years or fines reaching SAR10 million, or both. The SFDA discovered the contamination during routine inspections aimed at ensuring food safety and preventing consumer risks.
The SFDA is committed to maintaining high standards of food safety. It will not tolerate any actions that jeopardise public health. The authority continues to enhance product safety measures and will take strict action against any violators found compromising these standards.
To support these efforts, the public is encouraged to report any suspected food-related violations. They can do so by contacting the SFDA's unified call centre at 19999, helping ensure that all products in the market meet safety requirements.
The SFDA remains vigilant in its mission to protect citizens and residents from unsafe food products. By conducting regular inspections and enforcing regulations, it aims to prevent any potential health hazards associated with contaminated foods.
