SEWA And Sharjah Municipality Introduce New Contract Authentication Service For Enhanced Customer Experience
The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA), in partnership with Sharjah Municipality, has introduced a new digital service. This service simplifies procedures by activating an electronic connection system. Once the lease contract is authenticated by Sharjah Municipality, services are automatically delivered. This eliminates the need for multiple agency visits or separate requests, streamlining the process into straightforward steps.
Dr. Hussein Al-Askar, Director of Customer Service, highlighted that SEWA has started offering proactive services. These include automatic account closures after obtaining a clearance certificate from Sharjah Municipality. The latest initiative furthers this by launching a service that begins connectivity automatically. Customers receive a text message detailing the required security deposit. Upon payment, services connect directly without additional requests or intervention.

This initiative aligns with SEWA's strategic vision to improve service quality and customer satisfaction. It adheres to the approved mechanisms of the Sharjah Digital Department and supports the UAE government's efforts to eliminate bureaucracy. The electronic linkage with Sharjah Municipality represents a strategic step that facilitates the customer journey, saving time and effort while offering a seamless digital experience from contract authentication to automatic service connection.
Dr Al-Askar emphasised SEWA's commitment to redesigning and simplifying procedures in line with Sharjah's government vision for smart and interconnected services. Through this initiative, SEWA aims to enhance operational efficiency, saving time and effort for customers and elevating their experience to unprecedented levels. This aligns with the digital transformation objectives of the Sharjah government.
By implementing this new service, SEWA demonstrates its dedication to improving customer experiences through digital innovation. The streamlined process not only benefits customers but also supports broader governmental goals of efficiency and reduced bureaucracy in public services across the UAE.
