SEWA Completes Major Water Pipeline Project From Kalba To Wadi Al Helo For Enhanced Supply

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has finalised a significant project aimed at enhancing the water supply in the region. This initiative involved extending a main water pipeline from Kalba to Wadi Al Helo. It also included constructing a new pumping station, six pumps, a ground tank, and two overhead tanks in Wadi Al Helo, with a total investment of AED43.77 million.

Engineer Yousef Al Hammadi, Director of the Kalba Department at SEWA, stressed the project's importance for the community. He noted that it aligns with comprehensive development plans led by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi. The aim is to provide top-notch services using advanced technology that meets local needs and supports infrastructure growth.

SEWA Completes Water Pipeline from Kalba

The project involved connecting a larger pipeline to a concrete water tank and building a pumping station capable of handling 700,000 gallons daily. Various pumps were installed to maintain consistent water pressure. Approximately 20 kilometres of steel pipes were laid, and fibre optic cables were added during the process.

This new development will significantly increase water supplies to Wadi Al Helo and nearby areas. It addresses rising water demand while improving the distribution network's efficiency. SEWA aims to ensure the facility's durability and reliability by employing cutting-edge technologies and materials.

Al Hammadi confirmed that the project is now fully completed. The pumping station has undergone testing, and all pipelines and tanks have been thoroughly cleaned and sterilised. Work teams faced challenges like operating near busy roads, in mountainous terrain, and during rainy weather but managed to overcome these difficulties successfully.

Al Hammadi highlighted SEWA’s dedication to providing excellent services to Sharjah residents. The new pipeline will help achieve water stability while improving pressure and quality in Wadi Al Helo. It will also support future development projects in the area and enhance overall water security in Sharjah.

Future Prospects

He added that development projects in Wadi Al Helo are crucial for regional growth. SEWA is closely monitoring economic, tourism, and cultural developments in the area to ensure energy and water needs are met effectively.

This initiative is part of SEWA’s ongoing mission to strengthen water infrastructure across the emirate. By ensuring high-quality drinking water availability for everyone, SEWA contributes significantly to regional development.
