Transforming Abu Dhabi's Correctional Centres

Counselor Al Abri stressed that developing rehabilitation and alternative punishment systems aligns with directives from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. As Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, his directives promote an innovative and sustainable correctional approach.

This strategy aims to reinforce Abu Dhabi's status as a global leader in advanced justice systems rooted in human values and innovation. By implementing pioneering programmes, correctional centres can rehabilitate inmates effectively, facilitating their reintegration into society as productive individuals.

The approach involves adopting best practices and leveraging modern technologies to address global trends in criminal justice while upholding justice principles and the rule of law. Al Abri highlighted the importance of monitoring performance indicators related to alternative punishments.

Strengthening cooperation with strategic partners is crucial for achieving inmate rehabilitation and social reintegration. Such collaboration forms a cornerstone for successful rehabilitation efforts within correctional facilities.

The committee's focus on these projects underscores a commitment to improving correctional centre efficiency through technological advancements. By fostering innovation, they aim to create a more effective system that benefits both inmates and society at large.
