Sharjah Executive Council Announces Settlement For Unattested Lease Contracts With Fee Exemptions

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, led the Sharjah Executive Council meeting at the Ruler’s Office. The session included H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah and Vice Chairmen of the Council. The meeting focused on enhancing Sharjah's development and improving residents' quality of life through various initiatives.

The Council announced a decision to address unattested lease contracts in Sharjah. Contracts signed before Law No. (5) of 2024 will receive a 50% fee exemption if attested before 19 September 2024. Additionally, those who attest their contracts will avoid administrative fines for non-attestation. These exemptions apply from 1 November 2025 to 31 December 2025 for all lease types.

In alignment with His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's vision, the Council approved the Hasaad Centre Project to bolster food security and support Emirati farmers. This centre will serve as a hub for collecting vegetables and fruits, easing farmers' burdens by providing nearby services. It aims to facilitate agreements with retailers, ensuring proper packaging and labelling according to quality standards.

The project also seeks to mitigate market risks for farmers through pre-arranged contracts and annual agricultural planning. By doing so, it enhances satisfaction among farmers and retailers by establishing clear terms on quantity, quality, and delivery timing.

The Council reviewed plans for Sharjah’s 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations, which aim to foster national pride and unity while honouring UAE achievements and heritage. Events across the Emirate will feature artistic performances, heritage zones, and activities for families and youth. Small and medium enterprises will also participate in these celebrations.

These festivities are designed to engage diverse audiences with theatrical performances, folkloric displays, and cultural activities that highlight the UAE's rich traditions.

The meeting underscored the importance of comprehensive development across all sectors in Sharjah. By focusing on social stability and well-being through targeted programmes, the Council aims to improve life quality for individuals and families in the Emirate.
